Abstract Based on the study of stratigraphy, structure and evolution of the Pingzhuang basin, it is considered that the Cretaceous Sunjiawan, Fuxin and Jiufotang formations satisfy the conditions to form in-situ leachable sandstone type of uranium deposits, such as the favorable lithology, developed sand bodies with mud-sand-mud interbedding structure, the favorable alluvial fan, fluvial and delta-limnetic facies, sufficient uranium sources in north and east of the basin, and favorable structure for interbed oxidation. The target horizon is Sunjiawan formation, followed by Fuxin and Jiufotang formations. The main prospecting type is interbedding oxidized zone.
